Yianna Bouyioukou was born in Athens, Greece. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-arc) and her Master of Architecture degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) on a full scholarship.
She has received several AIA (American Institute of Architects) Los Angeles Design Awards for the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington DC, the Innovative Bioclimatic European School Complex in Crete, The Vasilitsa House on the mountain of Pindos, Greece and most recently The Mozambique Preschool. She has practiced in Los Angeles for several years, serving as Project Architect for Barton Myers Associates. The firm’s Montecito Residence in Montecito, California, was selected by Architectural Record Magazine (May 2011) as one of only six houses from all over the world demonstrating innovative design and has won numerous awards.
Currently Yianna is engaged in projects internationally. She has received the 2012 Europe 40 Under 40 Emerging Young Architects and Designers Award from the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
